One of the most important corporate objectives of Phatra
Securities is the continuation and enhancement of unrivalled
services provided to institutional investors. Since
its origins in the 1970s, Phatra has distinguished itself
by focusing its resources to provide superior services
to institutional investors both local and foreign.
In this respect, the company was the first among Thai companies to tie up with top global financial services companies such as S G Warburg and Goldman Sachs. A complete integration was undertaken in 1998 when Merrill Lynch held a majority stake in Phatra. This meant that Merrill Lynch Phatra was, for the first time, able to offer full equity market services for Thai equities to institutional investors throughout the globe.
The establishment of Phatra Securities will not alter the services offered to institutional investors. Phatra continues its strategic alliance with Merrill Lynch in regards to equity sales, research and investment banking under a series of formal agreements between the two companies. This ensures continuity and enhancement of the high standards of service offered to all institutional clients.
Indeed, Phatra retains in full its five-person equity
sales team in Thailand, known for their professional
integrity, expertise and long experience in the Thai
market. The Thai team will continue to work closely
with their Merrill Lynch colleagues in various parts
of the world in order to provide the professionalism
and high level of service that foreign institutional
clients have come to expect from Phatra.
