In the new era of financial derivatives, Financial Products Development Group was formed in 2005 to develop Phatra's capability to deliver financial products beyond the traditional the equity cash market. With an emphasis on equity derivatives, Phatra will develop a wide range of instruments to meet the demands of our clients.
Exchange Traded Derivatives
As a founding member of the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) and Thailand Clearing House (TCH), Phatra covers all aspects of futures broking to its clients, including sales, execution, settlement and clearing of futures contracts traded on TFEX. With demand for exchange traded derivatives expected to grow from the present equity index futures contracts to include equity options and interest rate futures Phatra will be able to offer full broking service for these new products.
OTC Derivatives
With the global growth in over-the-counter derivatives, it is expected that this trend will develop in the Thai Capital Market. Phatra will work closely with its clients to provide specialist equity derivative products, with a focus on innovation and tailored solutions that provide value to our clients.
Stock Borrowing and Lending
Phatra has been granted an SBL license from SEC since 1999. The license allows Phatra to provide principle activity in the area of stock borrowing and lending. With a strong client base of local institutions, foreign investors and individual investors, Phatra is able to meet the various demands of our clients, whether it is providing extra returns for our investors, or allowing for delivery of short sales for our clients trading and hedging needs. Further, the launching of TFEX and the equity index futures contracts has created additional demand for SBL from our client base.
