The Company’s significant developments since establishment:

The New Chapter
2008 Since February 2008 the Company has issued research reports emphasizing appropriate asset allocation in order to provide knowledge on investment for High Net Worth clients. In March 2008, the Company started using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 program to increase its efficiency in servicing High Net Worth clients both in terms of timeliness and accuracy. In August 2008, the Company started providing an additional equity settlement alternative through money market fund to maximize clients’ return, and the Company started acting as a participant dealer and a market maker for Equity ETF on the SET Energy Sector Index. In November 2008, the Company started providing mutual fund trading service via telephone in order to facilitate clients, and the Company expanded its securities borrowing and lending business by offering securities lending for retail clients who were able to short-sell on cash accounts. At the end of 2008, the assets under advisory of High Net Worth clients of the Company had value of Baht 75,810.05 million in total, a decrease from Baht 89,583.44 million at the end of 2007 as a result of the reduction in total market capitalization.
2007 On 29 October, the Company started operating as an agent for SET50 Index Options which was the second product of TFEX launched. At the end of 2007, the assets under advisory of High Net Worth clients of the Company increased to Baht 89,583.44 million from Baht 69,638.31 million at the end of 2006.
2006 On 28 April, Phatra launched business as agent in futures exchange market. On 9 August, Phatra launched securities borrowing and lending business. On 15 September, Phatra was approved by the TFEX to be a market maker for SET 50 Index Futures on a continuous basis and Phatra launched the business as a market maker in TFEX. On 9 October, Phatra launched futures trading services via Internet.
2005 On 28 February, Phatra Securities Company Limited became a public company. On 31 May, Phatra was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand under the symbol "PHATRA." On 14 October, Phatra was approved by the SEC to operate its business as agent in futures exchange market. On 7 November, Phatra officially launched Internet Trading Services as its new product.
2003 On 1 December, Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities Company Limited changed its name back to Phatra Securities Company Limited ("Phatra."). Phatra and Merrill Lynch maintain a close business alliance through several formal business service agreements which will give Merrill Lynch an opportunity to retain its full exposure in Thai market while also providing Phatra with more flexibility to expand its domestic business strategies and continue accessibility to Merrill Lynch's global network, expertise and resources.
The Joint Venture
2003 In July, Merrill Lynch and KASIKORNBANK agreed to sell their combined 100 % stake in Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities to the current management, employees and selective investors.
2000 Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities sold its asset management business to KASIKORN Asset Management Company Limited. Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities was now free to focus on three key businesses, securities trading, investment banking, and private client services.
1998 Phatra Securities Company Limited changed its name to Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities Company Limited.

Phatra Thanakit Finance Public Company Limited divested 51% of its shares in Phatra to Merrill Lynch, one of the world's leading financial management and advisory companies, and 49% of its shares to KASIKORNBANK-.
The Beginning
1997 Thai Farmers Bank, now known as KASIKORNBANK, increased its shareholding in Phatra Thanakit Finance and Securities Public Company Limited ("Phatra Thanakit") from 8.16% to 49.61%. At this point, its registered capital stood at Bt5,142 million.

Phatra Thanakit splits its finance and securities businesses into two separate firms. The new securities firm comprising securities, corporate finance, and asset management was named Phatra Securities Company Limited with registered capital of Bt2,500 million and 99.99% owned by Phatra Thanakit. Finance Public Company Limited.
1995 Phatra Thanakit entered into business partnership in corporate finance with Goldman Sachs after amicably ending its business and research relationship with SG Warburg.
1994 Phatra Thanakit's capital was increased five-fold to Bt2,852 million and its head office moved from Sukhumvit Road to Muang Thai-Phatra Office Tower on Ratchadaphisek Road where Phatra Securities is presently located.

The finance and securities businesses were separated into two separate business units.
1993 The company's registered capital was raised to Bt560 million with convertible debentures worth Bt14 million sold to foreign investors.
1992 Phatra Thanakit entered into a business agreement with SG Warburg for resource sharing in Securities trading and research.

Seven more provincial offices were opened – Pattaya, Surat Thani, Rayong, Samut Sakorn, Phuket, Sri Racha and Saraburi.
1991 Phatra Thanakit increased its capital to Bt500 million to expand securities trading services via satellite to 3 provincial offices in Chonburi, Chantaburi and Udon Thani.
1990 Another capital increase raised Phatra Thanakit 's registered capital to Bt440 million. This enabled the company to buy two new state-of-the-art equipment, DEC VAX computers. Its trading room was modernized.
1987 Investment banking and research department, formerly known as Phatra Research Institute, are established.

Registered capital was raised to Bt270 million, enabling the company to set up a stock-price reporting system known as video banking.
1985 Phatra Thanakit was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) under the symbol "PHATRA". Its registered capital was raised to Bt180 million in line with the upgrade of Phatra Thanakit's credit quality and its need to expand investment banking services.

1983 Phatra Thanakit again raised its registered capital to Bt120 million to upgrade its computer system to support operations in hire-purchase, provident funds and financial management as well as to enhance its management information systems and data base.
1979 Phatra Thanakit, underwent major changes including a name change to Phatra Thanakit Finance and Securities Co., Ltd. Its office was moved from the Muang Thai Life Assurance Building on Charoen Krung Road to a larger Phatra Thanakit Building on Sukhumvit Road. Registered capital was more than doubled to Bt90 million.
1978 Computerized operations were first introduced. INFOREX was used in securities and credit operations.
1975 Securities business was introduced in addition to Phatra Thanakit's existing finance business.
1974 Phatra Thanakit was admitted as the sixth member of the Securities Exchange of Thailand.

The company began to offer financial services to residential and commercial real estate projects.
1973 Phatra Thanakit increases its registered capital to Bt40 million. Business was concentrated mainly on deposit taking and issuing short-term credit.
1972 Phatra Thanakit was incorporated on 9 February with registered capital of Bt1 million. Operations commenced on 29 March.
